Feeling the Pressure:

Ever felt stressed? Tired and overwhelmed? No, it’s not just you, but millions of people suffer from this, and I’m here to tell you why. In the digital age we live in, every company is after your attention. Trying to win against these big tech companies is like going against a tsunami. You will be crushed in the process. But you don’t have to be a part of their landscape. You can simply get on a plane and fly away before the tsunami hits you.

Today, I want to talk about why less is more. By adopting this philosophy, you will be a lot happier, more organized, and indestructible. Of course, if you enjoy being distracted, unorganized, and all over the place, then what I’m about to suggest will be of no benefit to you. Something I read in a book struck a chord and many years later, it is still in my head, like a mantra. It goes something like ‘if you are doing this, that means you are not doing that.’

The Burden of Perceived Obligations:

It’s all about choices, and we can’t do everything at once. Sometimes we have to let go of things in order to be free, that also means we have to give up on opportunities. Any time I felt overwhelmed or disorganised, it was always due to perceived obligations vying for my attention, and a lot of the time it was social media and its intrusive technology.

Reclaiming Autonomy:

When I retreated and gave up social media for a while, I noticed how I felt like I had so much free time. Sometimes I didn’t know what to do. I think a lot of the time, we let these tech companies decide and tell us what we should do. We almost give up our responsibilities and autonomy to them. It’s almost like we don’t want to be free.
