Did you know that if you wanted to become a famous internet personality, you could? Yes, you don’t have to be entertaining or attractive, although this is a plus. Studies have shown that people who are attractive or entertaining tend to get a lot more attention generally in all aspects of life.

The Power of User-Generated Content:

But do you need these two main factors to be successful on social media? No. Let me explain. All you need is a camera and some basic editing skills, and you’re good to go.

The 1% rule in internet culture refers to the idea that only 1% of the users in any given website or online community actively produce new content, and 99% of the users consume or interact with the content without contributing themselves.

Did you know that all social media platforms need content creators and favour them? Without user-generated content, these platforms would not exist. A percentage of people use it to communicate with their friends, but most people use it for entertaining purposes.

Overcoming Fear and Judgment:

So what stops people from pursuing this path? It’s not an easy path, just like anything in life, it takes a lot of time and effort. But this is not why they don’t pursue it. From what I have observed, it has to do with judgment.

Most people are so scared of what other people will think of them that they are almost prisoners of them. The fear of failure is a difficult thing to overcome.

I’ll tell you something I learned from human behaviour: No one actually cares what you do; in one way, you’re not that important to them. They are in their own world; they only care about themselves.

Embracing Your Niche and Authenticity:

Some basic advice I learned from digital marketing: If you specialise in a particular niche, then your chances of success are greater, and guess what? You are the niche. Be yourself and talk about the things you love the most. If you are brave and embrace your uniqueness, the laws of causation will likely work in your favour.

Monetisation and Business Approach:

Keep in mind, having lots of followers online won’t necessarily equate to you becoming rich. I know people who have over 100k followers but hardly make £500 a month from it, and I know people who have less than 3000 followers and earn more than £1000 from it. What’s the difference? One is approaching it like a business and one is not.
